Big Data Meetup on Case-based reasoning

Wednesday the 13th of November, the Department of Computer and Information Science, the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Society and the GEMINI Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence are happy to host the second meeting in Trondheim Big Data.

Gemini Centre lecture by Alla Sapronova

Alla Sapronova from Uni Research will give a lecture on Forecasting Modelling with ANN for Offshore Wind. The lecture will take place in room 454, Friday, November 1st at 12.00.

Abstract

Data analysis and forecasting modelling is vitally important for many application. Among them an ongoing Norwegian initiative on developing technologies for offshore wind energy. Uni Research as NORCOWE partner focuses on the AI application for improving weather and energy yield forecast for both long and short time scales. During last three years several projects, both in the academic and the private sector, have been completed. The projects were based on Artificial Neural Network models of different kind: e.g. feed forward network, self-organizing map, etc. Two show cases will be presented in the proposed seminar.

As a cooperation between the GEMINI Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence’s lecture series and the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Society, this Friday, October 19th, we are happy to invite you to a talk about AI research and development in Yahoo!

Jon Braseth, Distingushed Engineer at Yahoo! will talk about how Yahoo! structure their work on AI research and development, their infrastructure for applying AI on a large scale and which challenges remain ahead.

The talk will take place at ITV454 at the Department of Computer and Information Science from 11.15 to 12.00, Friday, October 19th.

ECCAI Travel Awards 2012

An ECCAI Travel Award Scheme has been established to support students, young researchers and faculty who are members of an ECCAI affiliated society participating in ACAI and ECAI. In 2012 the grants will only be awarded for attendance at ECAI 2012. The awards, valued at 400 Euros each, are for reimbursement of travel and part payment of registration fees.
