Axel Tidemann in Eurovision semi finals

This is not strictly related to Artificial Intelligence, but impressive enough to still warrant a mention on this site. Axel Tidemann, our colleague at the Intelligent Systems group at IDI, NTNU, served as Margaret Bergers drummer during this weekends’ national finals in Melodi Grand Prix.

This means he and Margaret will be performing at the semi final (and hopefully the final) of Eurovision 2013 in Malmö in May. You can watch their performance in the Norwegian final below.

As this is an AI blog, this post is a good opportunity to mention Axel’s PhD studying how robots can learn from humans by imitation, with a drumming robot as the main application. It is available here.
